GRAFTON, W.Va. (WDTV) -- The West Virginia Small Business Development Center is offering its "Business Fundamentals" course for free on February 21.
The class will be taught from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the All Aboard Grafton Building at 121 E. Main Street, Grafton.
Both sessions will be taught by Business Coach Todd Crump. Officials say the class focuses on "what entrepreneurs need to know to start a business in West Virginia," including "getting a business license, identifying the market and writing a business plan that can build credibility with potential lenders."
The workshop is part of the WV SBDC's Three Step Jump Start program, which aims to give business owners the "right information at the right time."
"The three steps of the program are 1) watching the Three Step Jump Start video online at www.wvsbdc.com that explains the services provided by WV SBDC; 2) attending a Business Fundamentals workshop where entrepreneurs get information and tools to get started and 3) scheduling a meeting with a WV SBDC business coach. The Three Step video is available on the WV SBDC website www.wvsbdc.com. Click “I Have An Idea” and watch," officials stated in a press release.
The cost of the "Business Fundamentals" course is normally $35.
