MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) -- Four individuals will be honored as “Most Loyals” at West Virginia University.
The titles are awarded every year as part of the university’s Mountaineer Week, an annual celebration of Appalachian heritage.
The Most Loyal West Virginian for 2017 is Dr. Ronald Wilkinson, a clinical professor for the WVU Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. According to WVU, the title goes to someone that “exemplifies faithfulness to the ideals and goals of the state of West Virginia through business, professional and civic achievement as well as support for WVU.”
The Most Loyal Alumni is Jon Hammock, the president, CEO and founder of KeyLogic Systems in Morgantown. The university says the title goes to a person who, “exemplifies faithfulness to the ideas and goals of the University and exhibits support for WVU activities and operations through leadership and service.”
Most Loyal Faculty/Professional Staff and Classified Staff Mountaineer for 2017 are Mannon Gallegly, an emeritus professor of plant pathology at WVU and Barbara Bodkins, a senior administrative assistant in employee relations within WVU’s Division of Talent and Culture.
According to WVU, the title goes to people who “exemplify faithfulness to the ideals and goals of WVU and exhibit support for University activities and operations through leadership and service.”
The recipients are selected by WVU Faculty Senate, WVU Foundation, WVU Staff Council, and the Mountaineer Week organizing committee. They will be honored during halftime of the WVU-Oklahoma State football game Saturday.
