BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. (WDTV) - Following a record-shattering afternoon yesterday, we could break more records this afternoon! Temperatures will once again climb into the lower 70's during the early afternoon hours. However, the warmth will not be sticking around for too much longer as a quick approaching cold front will be sweeping the region later this afternoon.
Ahead of the front, significantly warm temperatures could mean records being broken in Clarksburg and Elkins, and being tied in Morgantown and Parkersburg. Windy conditions will prevail through the afternoon as well as sustained winds of up to and slightly over 20 mph are in the forecast. Gusts up to 30 mph will keep conditions windy through about 4 PM.
Temperatures fall later tonight after the cold front moves through back down into the 40's and tomorrow's highs will only be in the 50's. Tomorrow will be the only slightly cooler day as we will be warming back into the 60's to kick off the weekend, but the rain showers remain through the end of the weekend.
