WESTON, W.Va. (WDTV) - Weston's bicentennial bonfire was held Saturday along the river.
Residents of Weston came by to hear a brief history of the area, like the devastating drought of 1930. The economy and healthcare of the area were ruined. The introduction of the Lunatic Hospital stimulated the economy of the area, as well as the downfall of the asylum and what purpose it serves today.

All residents from the surrounding areas were also welcome to learn of Weston's rich and diverse history.
