Seven locals featured on Class "A" girls all-state teams

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. A pair of Gilmer County Titans head the Class "A" All-State list as first-teamers. After back-to-back state tournament appearances including last year's championship, the duo of Riley Fitzwater and Kylie Shuff will join forces at Concord. Fitzwater led Gilmer in scoring at 14 points per game. Shuff was a close second at 13.

Tucker County's Sydney Nestor captains the Single-A second team. As a junior Nestor led the Mountain Lions in scoring for a second straight year at 17 points a contest.

Ritchie County's Cassie Tallman joins Nestor. Tallman helped lead the Rebels back to Charleston after a 10-year hiatus at 14 points per game.

Fellow Rebel and Ritchie leading scorer Stephanie Kirk cracks the Single-A 3rd team. Her 15-point average boosted RCHS to 18 wins.

Tucker's Terra Kuhn also averaged double-digits as a Freshman helping the Mountain Lions to a 13th consecutive state tournament appearance.

And Valley Wetzel's Sophie Palmer takes a spot on the third team as well after guiding the Lumberjills to a 15-8 record and an appearance in the sectional semifinals.
