Hailing from the mountain towns of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland, the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers draw freely from old-time, bluegrass, jamgrass, rockabilly, and swing music to create their own brand of high energy Appalachian Bluegrass. Free SOS Concert - Michael Christopher

Event Dates and Times

7/11/2017
Hazel Ruby McQuain Park, 185 Garrett St, Morgantown, West Virginia 26505
Join us for our seventh concert in the Sounds of Summer Concert Series sponsored by; BOPARC, City of Morgantown, Monongalia County Commission, WVU College of Creative Arts and Coca-Cola.
In the event of rain this concert will be held at the Met.

Michael Christopher found perseverance and grit during his childhood growing up in rural Pennsylvania, and the lessons he learned along the way would be right at home in the lyrics of today’s most popular country music.

For the last decade, Michael’s focus and passion has been on music: writing, singing, and performing in clubs, amphitheaters, and festivals across the country. While headlining events across the northeast and beyond, Michael has also opened for some major country stars, including Sammy Kershaw, Lonestar, Chris Lane, Jamey Johnson, Phil Vassar, and William Michael Morgan. His guitar-heavy, rock-edged sound intertwines with invocative lyrical virtuosity and positions him with elite company in the country music scene.

In his new self-titled album, Michael worked with an exclusive group of hit songwriters and producers including Dennis D’Amico recording at Ronnie’s Place/Black River Entertainment Studios, and Grammy-Award winning engineer Jamie Tate at The Rukkus Room. The result is a twelve-song anecdote of life and love that not only displays Michael’s flexibility and ingenuity as a songwriter, but also expands the boundaries of the country music genre.

(July 3, 2017) – According to a recent U.S. Cellular survey1, 64 percent of smartphone owners never leave home without their phone which increases the importance of smartphone etiquette. Staying connected and informed has never been easier with the latest technology, like the Apple iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S8. While we can be in touch any time or anywhere, it is also important to take into account our cellphone habits.

In honor of Cellphone Courtesy Month, knowledgeable associates from U.S. Cellular are ready to assist those interested in learning more about cellphone etiquette during a free workshop on Saturday, July 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the U.S. Cellular store in Lewisburg, located at 518 N. Jefferson St. Ste. 25. At the interactive workshop for the Lewisburg community, U.S. Cellular’s engaged associates will provide attendees with information on the importance of being in the moment and safe with their mobile usage.

“Most smartphone users are somewhat conscious about their cellphone usage in public,” stated Nathan Waddell, U.S. Cellular’s director of sales in the Mid-South. “However, in a recent survey conducted by U.S. Cellular, we found that 56 percent of smartphone owners believe that no one gets upset at them for their phone use, while 71 percent of the same people get upset at others. Being aware of our own phone etiquette is important for our mobile experience and the time spent with family and friends.”
