The Clarksburg Police Department promotes two of their finest today.

Police Chief Marshall Goff kicked off the ceremony, and City Clerk Annette Wright swore in Robert Matheny and Jason Snider as a new Lieutenant and Sergeant.

Lieutenant Matheny spent 22 years as a police officer, some of his time was served in Anmoore, Belington, and Nutter Fort Police Departments before calling Clarksburg home.

He thinks his 12 years in the detective unit has allowed him to move up in rank.

And with an open seat for Sergeant, Snider was glad to step in.

He's spent all of his 13 years at Clarksburg, and is happy that he's had his family and friends behind him.

Today Council Members, the Mayor, the City Manager, and family and friends were their to celebrate their new positions.
