The holiday season has officially arrived and so are those holiday pounds, experts at Xtreme Fitness are going to teach us how to shed the weight.

Owner Clinten Aragona says there's five components to a healthy weight loss.

1. Have proper food intake (fruits and vegetables.)
2. Include cardiovascular exercise (walking, running, classes.)
3. Weight training
4. Take more vitamins (stay away from diet pills.)
5. Create a work out plan.

To maintain a healthy lifestyle you should only be losing about 1 to 2 pounds a week, and around 5 pounds the first week.

In between Thanksgiving and Christmas folks on average gain about 5 to 10 pounds.

If folks out there start exercising and watching what they eat now then it won't be as difficult to drop the pounds after the holidays are over.
