Rising Gas Prices

It's that time of year when we watch gas prices at the pump sky rocket.

And overnight the prices soared in some places as much as $.03 a gallon.

Most of the gas in Harrison County and surrounding counties are averaging above 3 dollars a gallon.

Believe it or not the cost of oil has decreased, but it's gas refineries that are emptying our pockets.

Since last year the cost of oil has decreased, but our refineries are only working at 90%.

West Virginia Regional Triple A President Wayne Northey says, it's normal for prices to increase during the summer, but because of our recent mild temperatures prices are on the rise a little sooner.

The gas station in Bridgeport have fluctuated $.12 to $.15 since this morning.

Northey says over the summer were going to continue to see a rise and fall of gas prices, and if we're going to continue to drive "gas guzzlers" we'll just have to pay.
