The Clarksburg man charged with Kimberly Clayton's murder will stay behind bars.

The request for bond, was denied for Kevin Layfield, 46.

Several people hit the stand including Clayton's daughter, Amanda Jones, his sister Stephanie Layfield, and Detective Pat McCarty of the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

Back in 2005, she was found shot to death in their home on Racoon Run in Clarksburg.

Deputies say, originally the incident was thought to be a suicide, but further investigations proved it was a homicide case.

The case will be presented to next week's Grand Jury, and the defense will get a chance to petition today's bond ruling.
