Three vehicles were almost unrecognizable from the crash that occurred around four in the afternoon near the Burnsville-Glenville exit on I-79.

Authorities say a pick-up truck from Kentucky was traveling southbound when it lost control, went into the median, and then went airborne slamming into a minivan from West Virginia.

That minivan then hit a car from Pennsylvania which went into the median.

Both the truck and the minivan were on fire because of the accident.

A total of seven people, two in the truck, four in the minivan and one in the car were in the three vehicles.

Four Healthnet helicopters have taken at least three people to Charleston Area Medical Center and two others were sent to Braxton Memorial Hospital.

The extent of the injuries are still unknown at this time.

Traffic was backed up for miles due to the accident.
