More Alleged Victims Come Forward In Sexual Abuse Case

Foster "Pete" Bowen, 80 of Barboursville, was arrested August 19,2010 for two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault by a guardian, two counts of displaying obscene material to a minor, and two counts of using obscene material to seduce a minor which allegedly occurred in Cabell County.

Bowen is accused of bringing young boys to his camp in Barboursville, and engaging in sexual acts with them, since the 80's.

Three more victims, one of of Mason County, and two out of Webster county have also come forward saying they were also abused.

Bowen is being held at the Western Regional Jail on $1,000,000 bond.

Senior Trooper Kirk and Senior Trooper Jordan are both working the case, and still investigating, to find out if there are more victims.

Buckhannon Firefighters Qualify for National Competition

Running with a hose, climbing stairs and pulling ropes are all in days work for firefighters.

Buckhannon firefighters showed off their skills in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge August 20,2010, and qualified for the next level of the competition in Myrtle Beach.

"Our hard work finally paid off, all the effort we put in the last few months finally came down to this and made it all worth while," says team captain Ben Tacy.

"It was a lot harder than we expected," says firefighter Bryan Carr.

"It takes a lot of guts just to put the training and a lot of time and commitment," says firefighter Joey Baxa.

For the past four months, the five firefighters competing in the challenge have put in numerous hours of training for the big day.

"It really gets your heart rate up it shows the amount of exertion it takes to fight a fire just in a shorter time frame it uses the same skill sets," says Baxa.

What makes it even harder is that they have to compete in full turnout gear which adds an additional 50 pounds to their body weight.

"It's helping us individually for working out, I've actually lost weight myself," says firefighter Dion Wamsley, but at the end of the day they all agree that it's knowing they were able to do it that's the best part.

"This is the world series of the whole contest.," says Tacy.

Fellow teammate Baxa agrees saying "It's something every fire fighter should do they should at least try this, it's a task we perform in our job everyday and it's something every fire fighter should be prepared to do."

They'll head to Myrtle Beach in November.
