With the healthcare debate continuing to heat up across the country, some local officials met on Friday to discuss its impact on the community.
The Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, and several area healthcare providers, met in Philippi to discuss healthcare reform. Their biggest concerns are how it will affect the public, local insurance providers, and the nation as a whole.
Davis Health System CEO, Mark Doak, says they held the meeting simply because they feel educating folks on the topic is the best way for folks to make good decision.
And the American Medical Association and AARP have both recently announced that they endorse healthcare legislation drafted by house Democrats.
