Authorities are investigating a three acre brush fire that broke out in Bridgeport on Saturday.
A local Bridgeport resident called in the fire. They said that they saw smoke behind their house.
The Bridgeport Fire Department came to the area and found a large portion of the woods on fire. It was so large that the fire department had to split up so that they could attack the fire from two different locations.
The wind played a large role in the spread of the flames.
The fire is being considered suspicious because there is no reason for a fire to randomly start in this area. The Bridgeport Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources will investigate the scene together to see if they can find a cause.
A total of six departments came to help put the fire out including, Bridgeport, Anmoore, Shinnston, Nutter Fort, Spelter, Mount Clair and Lost Creek.
Nobody was hurt during the blaze.
