Great Dane lovers are increasing in West Virginia, but officials are finding there aren't enough homes to take in these large dogs.

The state's Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League is doing their part to find caring homes for these big four legged friends.

Those involved with the organization said the tough economy is not helping.

"We do encourage people in this time of downturn in the economy to remember that there are many, many victims and not all of them can speak for themselves," said Dawn White, MAGDRL member.

The organization has many dogs ready for adoption and is providing resources to current and prospective Great Dane owners.
