At Monday night's Barbour County Board of Education meeting, the board selected Ben Guido to be their new superintendent.

Guido is the principal at Norwood Elementary.

A public forum Saturday helped one county become more acquainted with what could be their new superintendent.

The Barbour County Board of Education held the forum at Phillipi Barbour High School Saturday morning. It allowed the four candidates for the position to answer questions posed to them by people within the community.

Board members say they thought this was the best way for the community to get involved in the selection process.

"It certainly gives the citizens the opportunity to see who the candidates are, and ask them questions," said David Everson, Barbour Board of Education's Vice President, " because the questions the candidates are being asked were submitted by citizens and our employees."

The board hope to hire someone to fill that position at their meeting Monday night.
