A Fairmont State University player is injured after being shot Friday morning.  Fairmont Police said Henry Richardson, 23, is alert and concious at Ruby Memorial Hospital after someone shot him by the Wise Guyz bar on Fairmont Avenue in Fairmont.  Richardson is a senior linebacker for the Fighting Falcons.

Since 5 News broke the story, a juvenile was taken into custody in connection with the case.  Police say the suspect shot the victim, then fled the scene. 

This isn't the first for crime in this area. There was also an attempted murder at the same location back in March 2008.

Fairmont Police recently made sure the business was a spot for extra surveillance as part of Project Safe Neighborhood.

Police said they're searching for a juvenile who escaped from Health and Human Services Friday evening.  But officers can't confirm if that person is the same one they took into custody for the shooting.
