A Marion County family is homeless after a fire destroys their home, Monday.

The call came in around 2:30 a.m., to a house on Parkview Lane in White Hall.

The family was able to make it out in time, but two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Fire officials aren't sure how the fire started, but the owner told crews the power was out and they were burning candles near the couch. The fire remains under investigation.

Crews from Monongah, Pleasant Valley, Barrickville, Winfield and Boothsville all responded, as well as the Marion Rescue Squad.

The home is ruled a total loss.
