Leslie Rubin joined the 5 News Team in August of 2008 after graduating
magna cum laude from West Virginia University’s School of Journalism.
While there, she earned a B.S. degree in Broadcast News and minored
in Communication Studies.

Born in Buckhannon and raised in Charleston, Leslie is happy to be
reporting close to home. She is the oldest of three and has twin sisters
at WVU. Leslie always knew she wanted to be a reporter and couldn't be
more thrilled to start her career at WDTV. While at WVU, she was a
reporter for WVU News, a student-run newscast that broadcasts on West
Virginia PBS and was the education reporter for KDKA-TV out of Pittsburgh
through the station’s partnership with the school of journalism.

Leslie lives in Bridgeport with her cat, Petty, and loves spending time
with her friends and family in Charleston, going to concerts, skiing,
indulging in reality TV, shopping, reading, and of course cheering on The
