Ken joined the 5 News weather team as the Chief Meteorologist in June of 2009 and comes to the Mountain State from Rochester, Michigan.
Ken graduated from Penn State in 1998 with a degree in Meteorology, the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield, Michigan in 2002, and finished an advanced degree in Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State in 2009. From 1998 to 2001 Ken worked at Accu-Weather as an associate meteorologist. He has also interned at KSWO in Lawton, Oklahom and WLNS in Lansing, Michigan. While attending MSU, Ken was a part of the 2008-2009 National Championship Weather Forecasting Team.
Ken gained his interest in weather while living briefly in Oklahoma during the 1980s during severe weather outbreaks. He enjoys thunderstorms, hurricanes, snow storms, and just about every other type of weather. When Ken is not thinking about the weather you can find him at the local bowling alley working on his game.
