DESCRIPTION:

As an Activity Assistant you will be responsible for involving residents in activities programming that meets their abilities, needs, and interests.

Additional responsibilities of the Activity Assistant include:
• Evaluating effectiveness of programming.
• Keeping activity area free of hazards.
• Following appropriate and adequate safety measures while on outings.
• Cleaning/sanitizing supplies and equipment according to a set schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify for the Activity Assistant, you must have effective communication skills and be able to work with individuals of all ages.

Additional requirements of the Activity Assistant include:
• Completion of an activity training program or ability to complete such program approved by the facility and the state in which the facility is located is preferred.
• If assigned on Alzheimer's Unit, training in working with residents with dementia.
• Training for communication skills in working with visually/hearing impaired, aphasic residents or other specific disabilities and validation techniques are preferred.
• Basic Computer Skills
 
Prefer to have a Certified Nursing Assistant for this position, this will increase the minimum hire point range from $10.55 to $11.37 maximum base on years of experience.  This is a 30 hour a week position.

WDTV-TV/WVFX-TV
Position: WDTV-TV/WVFX-TV News Internship

WDTV-TV and WVFX-TV offer two internships to accredited college students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Internships are only “producing” internships, and students do not leave the station in a station vehicle to cover news outside of the studio. Interns strictly stay within the newsroom and studio, and learn how a show is produced. Interns help write scripts and get other materials ready for the evening news shows at WDTV-TV.
