The State Fire Marshal's Office determines that two fires in Metz on Wednesday are related.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Mackey Ayersman says the first at the Delaney's home Wednesday morning and the one at Wilson and Wilson that night were caused by underground gas vapor.

Right now they haven't found any evidence that they are natural gas vapors from the areas underground gas lines. Those gas lines have been tested by Dominion Hope and have shown no signs of a leak.

Experts are searching for an abandoned oil well that is believed to be on the property.

The state DEP is monitoring the situation.
