The family of J.W. Exline needs the communities help to offset funeral costs.

18-year old Exline died on April 18, on a fishing expedition with a few buddies out on Stonewall Jackson Lake. He drowned after their boat capsized. His friends escaped unharmed.

On Sunday, a baked ziti benefit was held at the Ellamore Fire Department.

Guests wore green ribbons in his honor and 18 balloons were released in honor of the Buckhannon Upshur High School student.

Liz Golden, J.W.'s oldest sister says he loved hunting and fishing and was loved by everyone in the Ellamore community.

A scholarship fund has been started in his honor at Progressive Bank in Buckhannon. Checks can be made out to "JW" Exline-Ours Scholarship Fund, 41 West Lincoln St., Buckhannon, WV, 26201. If you would like more information, you can contact the bank at 472-0052.
