Margaret Cox, of Kingsport, Tenn. was honored as the 2008 Mother of the Year at the Mother's Day Founder's Festival, Saturday.

Cox is a mother of two and active in her community. She is Grand Madam President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and as a member raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She has one son who is currently serving in Iraq.

Mildred Trisler of Grafton was honored as the 2008 Centennial Mother of the Year.

She had four children, one of whom died young from polio. Trisler often raised her kids on her own while her husband worked in the coal mines.
