Pool To Open On Time

WDTV News
Amanda Pavlik

Last summer, Marion County Commissioners promised the 12th Street would be open by Memorial Day 2008, and they're keeping that promise.

Crews have worked for nine months to restore the old pool and it will be ready to open on Saturday. The pool was owned by the City of Fairmont and hasn't been used in 10 years. The County took it over to get it back up and running.

Works have cleaned the kiddie pool, restored the locker rooms, and checked the drainage system.

The pool will be open Saturday through Monday. Then it will close for the rest of the week while some of the lifeguards finish school. But it will open back up the last weekend in May and remain open through the summer.

Day passes are $3 for adults and $2 for kids. Summer passes will be available.
