One person was flown to Ruby Memorial hospital and another transported to United Hospital Center after a motorcycle ran into the back of a Ford Focus.

The crash happened shortly before 2 p.m. on Route 279, near the Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant.

Bridgeport City Police says the female passenger in the motorcycle was immediately ejected from the motorcycle during the collision. They say she landed about 100 feet from the point of impact and has likely suffered head, body, and limb trauma.

The man driving the motorcycle was transported to United Hospital Center.

Police say the driver says his car was moving east-bound on 279 when he was rear-ended. He escaped without injury.

The names of the victims will be released after family is notified.

Police are still investigating the incident. They say speed was a likely factor.
