A proposed silo project in Buckhannon has neighbors concerned and angry.

It all started back in May. City council granted access to Weatherford International to use 3 acres of property in North Buckhannon for sand silos.

But what has neighbors upset is the fact they've been given conflicting information since the beginning. Originally they were told there would be 40-foot sand silos, just yards away from homes and 10 trucks traveling back and forth daily. Instead they found out 40 trucks will be running the neighborhoods as well as 80-foot sand silos.

Another concern is the unhealthy, 1.2 million tons of silicate based sand that will be housed in the silo's.

So now 3/4 of the North Buckhannon community have signed a petition and are protesting to keep the silos out of their neighborhood.

The community plans to hold a meeting with the city and Weatherford in the upcoming weeks to get answers they believe they deserve.
