For some, running your own small business can be a nightmare at first.   But for two women in Star City, it's been a dream come true. Joanne Watson and Dina Mutillo had each been mulling over the idea for a few years, but it wasn't until last fall when they two decided to make their dream a reality.  In May, they opened "the Wow Factory".

It's a place where you can paint your own pottery, design your own mosaic, try out glass fusing, do some clay building and a whole lot more.  So far, it's been a major hit with kids and adults alike.  All prices for paint your own pottery includes the piece, which ranges from coffee mugs to plates and bowls, vases, boxes and tons of figurines to suit your style.  They'll help you pick out the perfect paint, then you leave it to be glazed and put into the kiln to bake.  A week later, the piece is yours.

They've offered summer camps and classes, and have had parties for everything from birthdays to bridal showers.  School groups and other like Stepping Stones and Pacetec have come in to explore their creativity.  The owners don't expect the momentum to slow down any time soon.  To find out directions, hours, and classes offered, you can log on to their web site at  www.thewowfactorywv.com, or call them at 599-2WOW.
