Alyssa Massetti joined the Channel Five News Team in April 2006 anchoring the weekday evening news at 5, 5:30, 6 and producing and anchoring the 11:00 News.

The oldest of three in her family, Alyssa has been a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area. She spent two years at the University of Tampa, then graduated from Point Park University cum laude with a degree in journalism.

Alyssa started her career as an intern at KDKA in Pittsburgh where she had the opportunity to go out and cover many stories, including an interview she did with Senator John Edwards during his presidential campaign. Following her first internship, Alyssa was chosen to host a magazine show that aired on a local Pittsburgh station called "On The Point," where she actually shot, produced and edited a few 5 minute feature stories of her own, including one with former Steeler, Jerome Bettis. In her final summer of college, Alyssa took an internship at WTAE in Pittsburgh, and was hired later that summer as an associate producer for the station.

When she is not in the news room, Alyssa enjoys running, spending time with her adorable puppy Giovanni Casanova, and loves to go scuba diving in local quarries.
