Officials in Marion County reassured parents that a mold problem at one school has been taken care of.

Even though air tests at East Dale Elementary show mold levels in the air are below average, some parents are still concerned for the health of their children.

The type of mold removed from the school was very common, non-toxic mold. John keeling works for the company that removed the mold. He met with concerned parents and answered questions for over an hour Thursday evening.

He says that the impacted materials, including carpet, have been removed from the school and that all the walls have been cleaned.

Average levels of mold in the air inside a building are 50% of the levels outside.

Right now air-checks show levels in the school are below that at that 40% and 10%.

Several parents said they would like to see another check done to make sure those levels remain low. A representative from the school board said that is something the county would be in favor of doing to reassure parents the problem has been completely removed.
