ATV related deaths have steadily risen in the past decade, with last year being the deadliest ever for riders.

That's why two WVU nursing majors are teaching students about the dangers.

Crystal Walker and Susanna Dailey say they've seen the dangers that improper riding can cause, so they spent the day at West Preston Middle School giving an ATV safety course to students.

It's part of their senior capstone project at WVU. Over half the school raised their hands when asked if they've even been on an ATV. That's exactly why these WVU students wanted to give them a safety course on ATV riding.

All of the students who attended got a chance to get their safety certification through the class.
