The TRAIL power line project has been a hot topic for months in several surrounding counties. Today folks in Preston County got a chance to voice their opinions as the state Public Service Commission held a public hearing in Kingwood.

It was the same story there as we've seen in Morgantown, Grafton, and other affected areas. Many folks say they feel like they're being scammed into getting less money than their property is worth. They say cutting down hundreds of trees is an environmental concern and they don't want their property to be devalued.

Almost a dozen residents spoke at this afternoon's meeting, all in opposition to the line. Preston County was not in the original schedule of PSC hearings, but they agreed to meet in Kingwood after two letters from the Preston County Commission requesting it.
