Two people are dead after what police a calling a murder/suicide Friday in Preston County.

It happened around 11:30 Friday morning at a house on Herring Road in Bull Run area- east of Masontown.

A man and woman both died as a result and police believe that a divorce could have played a role.

Police told NewsChannel 5 that the man shot the woman, and then turned the gun on himself. The Preston County Sheriff's Department did confirm that the couple were found outside the home and that no one else was present at the time of the incident.

The bodies were taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Charleston. The names of the victims aren't being released.
