Sheriff's Department to Get New Equipment

The Monongalia County sheriff's department is set to get a technology upgrade in the next few months.

The Governor's Highway Safety Program has allocated money for Governor's Highway Safety Program has allocated money for several police agencies to get laptops in their cruisers.

Standard accident traffic reports have gone from four to 14 pages, and having the capability to access the forms and foll them out on the computer will be a huge boost for police departments. Mon County chief deputy Al Kisner says having officer of road for longer periods of time and not having to go to the office to fill out that paperwork is a big plus. Kisner says it's a win win situation.

The reports will also be available online for folks involved in accidents to pay for and access on the internet.
