A young boy is taken to the hospital after the car he was riding in was hit by a train in Westover.

In happened around 8:15pm Saturday, along Dunkard Avenue in Westover.

The driver of the car says as he approached the tracks, he didn't see any lights at the crossing or hear a horn. But when he looked at the crossing, he saw a train coming and tried to back off the tracks. That's when his car slid on the slushy roads and the front end was struck by the train.

The driver wasn't injured but his son was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
