Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Westover

Carrie Jones

Rumors are swirling that eight employees at the Monongalia County Tax Office are the owners of the winning Powerball ticket.

Lottery officials say they were contacted by the group Sunday night, but the ticket must be confirmed by the lottery office in Charleston before they can claim there millions.

If they take the lump sum option, they would get nearly $ 95 million after taxes. Split eight ways, that's nearly $12 million each.

The winning ticket was sold at Paula's in Westover. The business will $100,000 just for selling the lucky ticket.
