Candidates appearing on Marion County's ballot this May will have their chance to speak to voters.

Candidate forums will be held this week at Westchester Village in Fairmont. Folks running for everything from Governor to the Board of Education will have a chance to give a short speech and answer questions from the local media.

If the candidates can't be there themselves, they can send someone from their campaign to speak on their behalf.

D.D. Meighen, director of Marion County TV-19 says it's a good way to allow the candidates to reach a very wide audience with only one appearance, and it's also a way to utilize public access for it's main reason, educating folks about what's going on in their community.

The forums will be at 6:00pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The public is invited to attend but will not be able to ask questions. The forums will then each run in their entirety every day in April on Marion County's public access channel 19.

Unopposed candidates will go mostly on Tuesday, and opposed candidates on Wednesday.
