UPDATE: Accident Causes Morning Delays on I-79

A Friday morning crash shutdown I-79 between the Westover and Star City exits.

It happened at about 5:30 A.M. just before the Star City exit.

It started when a man hauling barrels of a low-level chemical to Ruby Memorial Hospital fell asleep behind the wheel of his pickup truck.

He then veered off the side of the road, hit an interstate sign, went up and over a hill, woke up, and then ended up nosediving off the side of the hill and back onto I-79.

The man was not hurrt.

The name of the chemical has not been released. Hazmat was called to the scene.
