Fire Injures Nutter Fort Woman

Scott Snider

A fire breaks out at a Pennsylvania Avenue home, sending one woman to the hospital with severe burns.

When fire crews got on scene just before 7:30 a.m. the ground floor of the home was engulfed in flames.

The woman and her husband were able to escape, but she was taken to United hospital Center with second degree burns on her back.

The home has been ruled a total loss. Nutter Fort fire officials believe the fire may have started in the kitchen, but the State Fire Marshal's Office has been called in to determine the exact cause.

The Stonewood and Anmoore Fire Departments assisted with putting out the blaze.
