ATV Riders Gear Up for Riding Season

As the weather continues to warm up, more folks will be riding ATVs and motorcycles. In the past few years, we've seen record number of ATV related fatalities, and safety legislation has failed to make it out of Charleston.

That's why police say it's extremely important for folks to stay up to date on safety courses. They want to make sure you teach your kids the safest way to ride a four-wheeler.

Some of the most important tips to remember are to read your owner's manual and never let more people ride on an ATV than what it's designed to hold. Always wear a helmet and any other safety gear you need.

Never ride under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, and stay off paved roads.
