Sheriff's Deputies in Upshur County are training with a new tool that is saving lives.

Project Lifesaver is a program that helps locate people who are missing.

These devices are especially helpful when locating folks with cognitive disorders such as alzheimers or autism.

Thanks to a grant, the Upshur County Sheriff's Department received their tracking devices Monday morning.

For $300, folks with these disorders can purchase bracelets, and if they're ever lost, the new transmitters can cut down on search times from days, to minutes.

Upshur County is the 13th county in the state to have this program.

Sheriff Miller says he's had a number of call already for folks who want to purchase the bracelets for their loved ones.
