A Randolph County emergency services worker is behind bars for tampering with drugs used to treat patients.

Tonya Wadsworth allegedly stole morphine from supply bags and replaced the viles with saline solution. She's charged with creating a counterfeit substance and theft of a controlled substance.

The arrest comes after a four month investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff's Department. She's currently being held on a $20,000, cash only bond. More charges could be pending.

Investigations show the drugs were not sold on the street and Wadsworth did not take them while on duty.
