Folks around Morgantown and the WVU campus are still talking about the controversy with president Mike Garrison.

The issues involving Governor Joe Manchin's daughter Heather Bresch caused serious outbursts among folk in the community, but Garrison has a few words of his own.

MIKE GARRISON STATEMENT:

"Since my appointment as President of WVU,
I have worked with hundreds of students,
faculty members, and staff who have stepped
forward to address the challenges and opportunities
which face us as a University. We have
accomplished great things together and
we will continue to do so by focusing on
the future of the University."

Morgantown mayor Ron Justice says Garrison hit the ground running and already had strong ties to the university. He says Garrison has worked hard to band together with city leaders on major projects like the new Sunnyside dorm and more.
