A new member is appointed to the Marion County Board of Health, after one resigns.

Nancy Parks resigned her spot on the Board at Wednesday's Marion County Commission meeting. There was a recent conflict on whether or not she was legitimately appointed.

Commissioner Wayne Stuttler motioned to appoint their president, Alan Park, to the Health Board as her replacement.

They wanted to make sure a full board was in place as soon as possible. An emergency meeting is being held this Friday to appoint a new treasurer, because that's the office Nancy Parks held.

They definitely needed the full Board in place by May 30th, for the next regular meeting, when folks can express their concerns about the recently passed smoking ban.

Nancy Parks voted in favor of the smoking ban. Alan Parks says he is also in favor of the ordinance.
