A Saturday afternoon fire at an Upshur County home has been ruled suspicious.

It happened around 1:00 p.m. at a home on Ira Moore Road outside of Buckhannon. Fire crews from Buckhannon spent about an hour trying to save the building, but it was ruled a total loss.

5News talked to the owners of the mobile home after the fire. They said a man renting the house was not found after the incident.

Two dogs died as a result of the fire. The State Fire Marshal's office has been called in to investigate.
