Two cars hit head-on Thursday evening in Taylor County killing two people and sending one woman to the hospital.

The cars collided just after 6 p.m. on Route 50. Police say a 52-year-old man driving a station wagon crossed the double yellow line while trying to pass a tractor trailer. That's when he hit a 72-year-old man driving a minivan.

Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene. A woman passenger in the minivan was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident is still under investigation. Police are not releasing any names until all family members have been notified.
