The state calls several more witnesses in the Kevin Layfield murder trial.

One of those witnesses is a forensic expert who explained the photographs taken the night Layfield's girlfriend Kimberly Clayton was to shot to death, at their home on Raccoon Run Road.

And that expert being Sergeant Mike Lynch from the West Virginia State Police in Charleston.

He showed jurors the blood splattered clothing and crime scene, and he also noted the way Clayton's body was positioned is inconsistent with the blood stains and the handgun.

Lynch says, one picture showed a "V" shaped pattern, where someone has to be sitting the time of the shooting.

He did not investigate the crime scene back in 2005, in his opinion Layfield had to be present for the shooting.
