This week could mark a historic vote in Monongalia County, but not without more controversy to go along with it.

The Smoke-Free Mon County Coalition filed a recent complaint with the state's ethics commission, say three board of health members have conflicts of interest related to the proposed ban.

They say chairman Sam Chico III has a big stake in tobacco sales with his company, Chico Enterprises. They also say member August Lucci is employed by a bar/ restaurant in Morgantown. And they say Bob Bell has taken campaign contributions from Chico Enterprises and bar and restaurant owners.

They say they'll continue to protest until something is done.

The BOH will meet at the Mon County Health Department at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
