Business and home owners Gilmer County are recovering after the pouring rains brought in major flooding.

Glenville took a big hit from the flooding, now they're just trying to pick up the pieces.

It has been a team effort for folks in the county from the police, the 911 center, the American Red Cross all the way to employees at local stores.

Authorities say four gas stations were flooded out, and only one is back in business today.

Also two grocery stores had to be shut down, but authorities believe Foodland is back up and running again.

Governor Joe Manchin made a stop in Glenville Thursday and had FEMA crews there to check out the damage.

The National Guard is also supposed to lend a major hand the clean up.

Glenville Police Chief John Moss says, they also a structure fire they think was caused by flooding.

And all roads in Gilmer County should be reopened even after a 32.1 feet of water.

Moss says, this is the sixth worst flood they've had in a hundred years.
