A motorcycle accident in lewis county turns deadly after the driver slams his bike into an embankment.

Lewis County State Police and Sheriff's Deputies say, Charles Willard Fitzhugh, 57, and his wife were driving on Route 33 toward Gilmer County yesterday when they lost control, throwing them both from the bike.

Fitzhugh was pronounced dead on scene while his wife was taken to Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

The medical examiner believes Fitzhugh suffered serve head trauma, because he wasn't wearing a helmet.
